Märzen / Oktoberfest
Harriet’s Märzen is our interpretation of a traditional German Märzen/Oktoberfest, and it’s all about the malt. Märzens were brewed in the Spring, cellared for the summer, and consumed in the late summer and early autumn months culminating to the Oktoberfest celebration (Rauchfest on September 29th). Notes of toasted malt dominate the aroma and flavor. A blend of Vienna, Munich, and Pilsner malts provide a richness up front that gives way to a moderately dry finish with a faint noble hop character.
