West Side is a hoppy amber Belgian-style beer. The hoppiness is derived from quintessential West Coast hops. Hop character is forward, yet restrained, and sits at ~40IBUs (i.e. on the lower end of an American IPA) so not to dominate the flavors and aromas of malt and fermentation. The malt is mellow and relatively neutral with perhaps notes of toast, toffee, caramel, and/or stone fruit. Balance is desired on every level; thus, overly estery/phenolic fermentations and/or overly robust maltiness are not desired. I have made many revisions to improve West Side.
