Tilia

2726 W 43rd St
Minneapolis, MN 55410

Tilia is the Latin genus for the Linden, a tree with heart-shaped leaves that inspired the name of the Minneapolis neighborhood, Linden Hills, where we’ve located our little eatery.

Dig a little deeper and you’ll learn that the Linden tree is rich in mythology and has many wonderful properties. In German folklore, the Linden was considered a tree of lovers. It was also believed it could help unearth the truth, and thus became a judicial meeting place for German citizenry seeking to restore justice and peace. Its wood is prized in guitar-making, while herbalists use it to treat restlessness. The Linden’s flower is even used to make a nice herbal tea and is important to beekeepers seeking a richly flavored honey.

Peace. Love. Truth. Music. Relaxation. Flavor. We’re down with these things. As we settle into this little gem of a neighborhood, we draw inspiration from both our surroundings and the wonderful properties and history associated with the tree that lent us our name.

Turf Club

1601 University Ave
St. Paul, MN 55104

Opening in St. Paul’s Midway area in the ’40s as a two-steppin’ country bar, mellowing a bit through the folk artsy ’60s, morphing with the dance wave of the ’70s, then embracing the grunge of the ’80s and ’90s, the Turf Club is like a treatise on Minnesota music. And this is at the core of the club’s success: its consistent dedication to local and independent music, something this town of ten thousand musicians definitely recognizes and even appreciates enough to maintain loyalty in the face of an adverse location.

Wilde Roast Cafe

65 Main St SE
Minneapolis, MN 55414

The Wilde Roast Cafe is a neighborhood restaurant with an updated Victorian feel, but it’s not your typical cafe.

The cafe is named after Oscar Wilde, the popular 19th Century playwright. Wilde lived much of his life in England, although he was Irish. He was a man with eccentric tastes that were ahead of his time; he favored velvet breeches and peacock feathers. Wilde enjoyed poking fun at the Victorian society in his two most famous plays:  An Ideal Husband and The Importance of Being Earnest, both written in 1893. He died in 1900 from what he called “the love that dare not speak its name.”

We’ve tried to create an atmosphere that would suit Wilde’s tastes.  A comfortable place you can come alone or with friends to enjoy a latte or glass of wine by our 1900′s fireplace on a Chesterfield couch. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus featuring an array of sandwiches, individual-sized pizzas, appetizers and other great comfort food. A big dessert menu for the evening crowd leaving the theater or going out for the night. Where else in Minneapolis offers this?

Wise Acre Eatery

5401 Nicollet Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55419

Wise Acre Eatery connects guests to the source of their food, most of which comes from Tangletown Gardens’ 100 acre farm in rural Plato, MN. Here, our Scottish Highland Cattle, Berkshire and Large Black hogs, and free range chickens, ducks and turkeys live stress-free, hormone-free lives with plenty of room to roam. Fresh produce is grown year-round in our greenhouses and fields ensuring a steady stream of farm fresh goodness delivered to our kitchen all the time. We are the folks sowing the seeds, nurturing plants and tending the animals in the morning, then delivering the harvest to our restaurant’s kitchen in the afternoon—it just doesn’t get any more local than that.

Truly, the shortest distance between the earth, the hand and the mouth.

Zelo

831 Nicollet Mall
Minneapolis, MN 55402

Historical architecture meets funky décor in our downtown Minneapolis institution. This one-of-a-kind atmosphere sets the bar high for true hospitality, and great locally inspired food. Be here for our happening 4-5-6 attitude adjustment hour and the exciting new late night bar menu. Zelo, at ten years old, is very comfortable in its sophisticated role amidst the downtown restaurant community.

Zipps Liquors

2618 E Franklin Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55406

Zipps is a family-owned and operated store that has been a proud part of the Seward neighborhood for over 50 years. We’re a low-key kinda place that fancies itself as a cross between the glitz of large retail liquor shops and the familiarity of small mom & pop shops. We don’t have any glitz but we do have a great selection of libations that have been carefully selected to suit our customers’ needs. On top of these selections we have a well trained staff which guides our customers to the products that they like and want.

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Community

We love beer, obviously, but we also place great importance on the community and art - visual and audio. The Tap Room is our way of getting the community together, looking and listening to art and enjoying a few beers.
